Overview
This brief guide will show you how to search for recipients using User or Channel attributes when creating or updating content. Filtering recipients based on attributes ensures that your notifications are directed to the appropriate individuals or groups, enhancing the efficiency and relevance of your communication efforts.
Points to Consider
- You should have created one or more custom attributes for users and/or channels and assigned values to them on the respective users or channels.
- The attributes are used to search for the recipients; when a users or channels attributes are updated, they will not be added to existing content.
The Recipient Searcher
- Open the Recipient Searcher and click the Attributes tab.
- In this example here aree two user attributes, Department and Region, and one Channel attribute Manager.
- Start by entering a value in one or more of the attribute fields and then click Update.
- The filtered recipients will then be displayed in the Selected Recipients list.
- If you change the value of the attributes and click update, the Selected Recipients list will be updated with the new search result:
Note: If you have selected recipients directly from the Users & Channels tab, they will not be removed when you update the attribute values. - Once you are happy with your selection, click Done and the recipients will be added to the content.
